Text book described as “unacceptable”

Text book described as “unacceptable” - History and geography teachers from the “Clionautes association”, a public debate group in France, have said that part of a text in a history manual  published by Ellipses is “unacceptable”.

In a chapter devoted to conflicts the book looks back on the events of September 11th and questions  if "this world event – was undoubtedly orchestrated by the CIA (secret services) to impose the 'American influence in the Middle East?' "

Faced with outcry at the passage published in the school textbook, the publishing house said on Monday, that it was publishing a "formal fix" on its website and in copies of the book not yet distributed in bookstores.

According to an Ifop poll for Conspiracy Watch and the Jean-Jaurès Foundation published in December 2018, 21% of those under 35 agree with the idea that the US government was involved in the implementation of the September 11th, 2001 attacks.
