Study shows that France has the highest cannabis consumption in Europe

Study shows that France has the highest cannabis consumption in Europe - According to the EU drugs agency, France has the highest cannabis consumption in Europe despite having some of the continent’s strictest drug laws. Cannabis remains by far the most commonly consumed illicit drug in Europe. Around 1.3 % of adults in the European Union (3.7 million people) are estimated to be daily or almost daily users of cannabis. The French interior ministry has reported that nearly 200,000 people each year pass through the criminal justice system on some sort of drug-related charge. Last month, France was shocked by high-profile incidences of gang related violence, including a contract killing involving a 14-year-old boy and a Marseille drug gang. A recent poll shows that 85% of people in France feel that delinquency has risen.
