Ski resorts welcome recent snowfall

Ski resorts welcome recent snowfall - Ski resorts are confident that there will be plenty of snow for the February half term holidays. After a Christmas which saw rather mild temperatures and lack of snow, recent snowfall has been warmly welcomed at the region’s resorts. Staggered from February 4th to March 6th in France, the winter holidays are the most important period of the year for winter sports resorts, which also closely follow the school calendars of neighbouring countries, in particular Great Britain, Belgium and the Netherlands.

The only downside at this stage is the strike notices which have been filed for tomorrow January 31st by the two main ski lift employee unions in protest against the pension reform project and that of unemployment insurance. The unions, however, said that the work stoppages would be limited to a few targeted days to avoid "further problems for companies already in difficulty".
