Paris metro pays tribute to the Queen

Paris metro pays tribute to the Queen - Today Monday September 19th, the metro in Paris has paid tribute to Queen Elizabeth II. On the occasion of Her Majesty’s State Funeral a plaque in her honour has been placed at the Georges V metro station, named after her grandfather. The tribute coincides with the state funeral of Queen Elizabeth II who passed away on September 8th at the age of 96. Hundreds of foreign dignitaries and crowned heads are expected in London today for the occasion. The Georges V metro station, located in the chic districts of western Paris, bears the name of the sovereign who reigned over the United Kingdom from 1910 to 1936. His sons successively occupied the throne under the names of Edward VIII and George VI, the latter being the father of Elizabeth II.
