OLYMPICS 2024

Organisers say the men's and women's Olympic triathlons only have a 60% chance of going ahead on Wednesday after the men's event was postponed on Tuesday. The race was due to start at 8 this morning and will now take place on Wednesday at 10:45 am following the conclusion of the women's event.
Friday, 2 August remains a contingency date for both races, while organisers have said the event could be contested as a duathlon as a last resort.
Great Britain won their first two golds of the Paris Olympics as part of a medal rush on day three of the 2024 Games. Team GB picked up six medals on Monday across swimming, equestrian, mountain biking, canoe slalom and diving.
So far, Japan and China are in the lead with Six gold medals won followed by France, Australia and South Korea with 5, the US and UK with 3. 

Swimming - Team GB will go for a first swimming gold at the Paris Olympics after the 4x200m freestyle relay team qualified in first place for the final on Tuesday.

Football - Manchester City forward Julian Alvarez says he will make a decision about his future at the club after the Paris 2024 Games. Alvarez, 24, is due to make his third start for Argentina at the Olympics when they face Ukraine on Tuesday (16:00 BST) in Lyon.

Tennis - British men's number one Jack Draper faded in the sweltering Paris heat as the nation's interest in the Olympics singles ended in the second round. Draper, 22, lost 7-6 (7-3) 3-6 2-6 to American seventh seed Taylor Fritz on the Roland Garros clay.

Hockey - Lee Morton scored twice as Great Britain fought back to earn a thrilling 2-2 draw with the Netherlands at a scorching Yves-du-Manoir Stadium.

Shooting - Great Britain's Nathan Hales won Olympic gold by setting a new Games record in the men's trap shooting final.

Rugby 7s - Handling errors cost Team GB dear as they lost their women's rugby sevens quarter-final 17-7 to USA at Stade de France. 

For the rugby sevens semi-final results: China beat GB in a tight game 19-15, France beat Ireland 19-7, New Zealand defeated the US 24 to 12, Canada beat Australia 21 to 12, south Africa won against Fiji 21-15, and Japan destroyed brazil 38 to 7.
Coming up, GB goes against Ireland, China faces France, the US goes against Australia and New Zealand and Canada conclude the day’s matches.
