Olympic flame festivities in Marseille

Olympic flame festivities in Marseille - Festivities have begun in the harbour of Marseille as more than 1,000 boats are expected to accompany the Olympic flame. The nautical parade which accompanied the Belem, on board, which is the Olympic flame, began off the coast of Marseille this morning at 11am and marks the start of two days of celebrations in the city. The procession will be made up of more than 1,000 boats including exceptional sailboats, pleasure boats, but also kayaks and paddles. At around 7pm this evening the Belem will enter the Old Port of Marseille and once moored, French competitive swimmer and Olympic champion of the 50-meter freestyle at the 2012 London Olympics Florent Manaudou, will disembark with the flame.
