Monaco scientific centre warns of harmful effects of nanoplastics - The Monaco Scientific Centre has just published a new study on the harmful effects of plastic pollution on the maritime environment claiming that nanoplastics are a real threat to corals. The ocean has been badly damaged by plastic. It is estimated that 10-12 million tonnes of plastic waste enters the ocean every year and that by 2025 the total amount of marine plastic litter will approach 150 million tonnes.
