Monaco is proud to announce it has obtained the EEA Gold Label

Monaco is proud to announce it has obtained the EEA Gold Label - Monaco is proud to announce that it has obtained the EEA Gold label (European Energy Award Gold), a prestigious distinction that rewards the Principality's efforts to continuously improve its exemplary management of its energy and climate policy, as well as its energy transition. With a remarkable score of 80.2%, Monaco thus joins the rare territories to achieve this level of excellence. The EEA Gold label is awarded to territories that are actively committed to reducing their carbon footprint, preserving their biodiversity and adapting to climate change. This label demonstrates the success of the concrete measures implemented to promote a sustainable, efficient and innovative energy policy. It represents the highest recognition at European level for territories committed to implementing their Climate Air Energy Plan.

Led by the Environment Department, a decision-making member of the EEA Association, alongside Germany, Austria, France, Italy, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg and Switzerland, the achievement is the result of a cross-functional, multi-stakeholder collaboration between the different Directorates/Services of all the Departments of the Prince's Government, as well as the Monaco City Hall, who have worked together to achieve this ambitious objective.

This distinction is a testament to the concerted efforts and environmental leadership of the Principality. Continuing this collective effort will help build a more sustainable future for Monaco and future generations. Obtaining this EEA Gold label is a major step in the implementation and monitoring of the Principality's energy and climate policy, thus illustrating its exemplary nature on both the national and international scene.
