Mid-Air Collision Between American Airlines Flight and Helicopter in Washington, D.C - An American Airlines flight has collided mid-air with a helicopter over Washington, D.C., according to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). The crash occurred in the Potomac River, which runs through the city. The American Airlines jet was carrying 60 passengers and four crew members, while the military helicopter had three U.S. Army soldiers on board. Emergency services ncluding police divers and boats, are currently searching the water for survivors. U.S. authorities have launched an investigation into the incident. The collision took place as the plane was approaching Runway 33 at Reagan Washington National Airport around 9 p.m. local time. U.S. President Donald Trump has been briefed on the "terrible accident" and has praised emergency responders for their "incredible work."
