32-year-old injured in collision - A 32-year-old man has been injured following a collision between a bus and a scooter in Cannes this morning. The incident occurred at around 10 a.m. in front of Cannes train station. The man was taken to hospital suffering minor injuries.

Kindergarten vandalised in Villeneuve Loubet - The city of Villeneuve Loubet in the Alpes Maritimes has launched an appeal for witnesses after one of the towns kindergartens was vandalised at the weekend. The incident occurred at the Maurettes kindergarten. Three of the four orange trees in the garden were cut with an electric saw. Police have opened an investigation and are asking anyone with any information to contact them on 04.93.20.62.04

Presidential election - The first round of the presidential elections will be held in 4 days, and the candidates are throwing their last forces into battle. The leader of the republican party Valérie Pécresse has denounced an "increase in violence" during Macron’s term going on to detail her programme for security saying she wants to "enshrine safety in the constitution", with minimum prison sentences, promising "video protection everywhere" and she spoke in favour of “compulsory municipal police”, "armed and with much more power".

Meanwhile the leader of left Anne Hidalgo has also attacked Emmanuel Macron for refusing to participate in last night’s election debate on France 2, unlike all the other candidates.

And far right leader Marine Le Pen has assured that the French are "fed up" with the "sanitary cord" judging that Macron's mandate was an authoritarian one.

Concert cancelled - Sting's concert scheduled for tomorrow Thursday April 7th in Aix-en-Provence has been cancelled after several cases of Covid-19 contamination amongst the musicians. The singer was to perform at the Arena du Pays d'Aix. The organizer of his world tour, Live Nation, asks fans to keep their tickets "pending further information which will be communicated, soon”.
