Accident on the Castellet circuit leaves two seriously injured - Two people have been seriously injured on the Castellet circuit in the Var. The incident occurred on Monday afternoon when a man and a woman, both aged 30, had an accident on a side track of the circuit. Each on a motorcycle and traveling in the same direction, they collided suffering a severe fall. Both were taken to hospital in a serious condition.

Volunteer firefighters denounce poor working conditions -Tension is rising amongst volunteer firefighters in the Var region as they denounce "a lack of consideration" from their hierarchy and “poor working conditions”. There are 4,409 voluntary firefighters in the Var representing approximately 80% of the emergency workforce, making them an essential contribution to the rescue and firefighting forces. The move comes following “a lack of action” after demands were made a few months ago.

National Rally president to visit the Var on Thursday - The president of the National Rally, Jordan Bardella, is to visit Fréjus in the Var this Thursday evening to present the party candidates for the future legislative elections on June 12th and 19th. The 26-year-old MP welcomed the very good score achieved by the party in the Var. Marine Le Pen came first in 7 of the 8 legislative constituencies of the Var.

Socialist leader’s son admits he didn’t vote for his mother in recent elections – Meanwhile in an interview with French media this morning the son of the Mayor of Paris Anne Hidalgo, Arthur Germain has admitted that he abstained in the second round of voting after voting for far-left candidate Jean-Luc Mélenchon in the first round. Anne Hidalgo was the socialist candidate for the elections and among the 616,478 votes for Hidalgo in the first round of the presidential election (1.75%), there was not that of her son.
