Sharp increase in incidence rate in the Var - There has been a sharp increase in the covid incidence rate in the Var since the beginning of the month. Latest figures show an incidence rate of 187 which is more or less 300 new daily cases. While the numbers are far from those of the summer when they hit 550 in the Var they are above the national average which stands at 180.

Safety exercise on tramline in Nice - A safety exercise is being carried out on line 2 of the Tramway in Nice. The stations of Port Lympia, Garibaldi le Chateau and Durandy will be closed to the public from 11pm tomorrow Wednesday 24th November. The prefecture has asked the public to "avoid the area" during the exercise. Replacement lines will be set up to maintain continuity of the service.

Parking wardens end strike action - After eighteen days of strike action the agents of the company Moovia, of the subsidiary Transdev, who are in charge of parking metres in Nice have ended the strike, without having won their case. Since 4th November, fourteen employees have been denouncing their working conditions and remuneration. Their management had offered them a bonus of 175 euros gross but the "employees are demanding an increase in wages" citing its importance in being able to ask for a mortgage or loan to rent an apartment. The bonus also depends on the agents efficiency as according to local reports "651 daily vehicle checks need to be carried out".

Clicshirt - A father and son from Menton have launched "Clicshirt" a connected health monitoring device for athletes but also for people who want to monitor themselves and who want to resume in all safety, a sporting activity. Electrodes are directly woven into the compressive and technical textile of the garment. In addition to heart monitoring, thanks to the electrodes, the "cardiobox" also includes a GPS, an accelerometer, and a gyroscope. It transmits all its data via Bluetooth. The launch price of the Clicshirt (which also exists in brassière version), at 269 euros, will be discounted from this Tuesday, on the occasion of the "Blackfriday", at 199 euros.
