Mayor of Nice wishes to stay close to the people of Nice - The mayor of Nice Christian Estrosi has denied rumours, during an interview on French television this morning saying that he has “not asked to be part President Macron’s new government” promising that he wishes “to remain close to the people of Nice”. Speaking on CNews this morning Estrosi also strongly denied that Macron had asked him to join his new government.

Changes to Monegasque law on women’s rights - Changes are expected to be made to women's rights in Monaco. This Thursday elected officials will examine a bill aiming to modify the texts of Monegasque law of notions deemed “obsolete and unequal”. The Minister of State Pierre Dartout adds that "this updating of the legal provisions contributes to continuing the construction of the structure of women's rights and to bringing the Principality into line with the evolution of society and at an international level, in accordance with the recommendations of the United Nations".

Castérino to be accessible from this summer - Castérino in the hinterland of the Alpes Maritimes will be accessible from this summer, a first since storm Alex which devastated the region on October 2nd, 2020. Tourists will be able to return to the Vallée des Merveilles as the local council finalises work on the bottom of the RD 91.

Traffic - The Alpes Maritimes Prefecture has warned of traffic disruption tomorrow Wednesday May 11th in the Nice West sector. The new IKEA store opens fully to the public on Wednesday at St Isidore and OGC Nice are playing Saint-Etienne at the Allianz Riviera stadium. The Prefecture said that traffic disturbances may occur from 9am and traffic and parking will be "severely disrupted" from 3pm until 11 pm.
