11 year old drowns in Paillon river - Nice prosecutor’s office has opened an investigation for manslaughter after a 11 year old child drowned in the river Paillon on Wednesday afternoon. The young victim was a pupil at La Plana primary school, in La Trinité and was at the time, on a school outing. Police have opened an investigation.

Regional elections - Republican Renaud Muselier and National Rally candidate Thierry Mariani have met in Mandelieu la Napoule this morning to take part in a live debate broadcast on BFMTV ahead of Sunday’s second round of the regional elections. Both candidates are running for the Provence Alpes Côte d’Azur region. On Wednesday Muselier was in Menton attending a round table with tourism professional and today he is to visit Six-Fours and Saint-Cyr-sur-Mer. Meanwhile Thierry Mariani (RN) will visit Draguignan and La Seyne-sur-Mer. This evening Mariani will give his last meeting in Frejus.
