Demonstrations in Corsica - 67 people have been injured, including 44 police officers during a demonstration in Bastia, Corsica, on Sunday. Several hundred people gathered to show their support for the Corsican independence activist Yvan (Ivan) Colonna who has been in a coma since being attacked in prison in Arles.

Pro-Ukrainian rally postponed following death threats – Meanwhile a pro Ukraine demonstration has been "postponed" due to death threats towards the Russian church in Nice. The pro-Ukrainian rally was to be held on Sunday in front of the church however, following the death threats the prefecture announced the postponement of the gathering.

Biodiversity talks get underway in Geneva today - United Nations biodiversity talks get underway in Geneva today Monday 14th March. Almost 200 countries are due to adopt a global framework this year to safeguard nature from human destruction by the mid-21st century, with a key milestone of 30 percent of "wild spaces" to be protected by 2030.  The aim of the talks is also to safeguard the "services" nature supplies, such as the air we breathe, the water we drink and the soil that yields the food we eat.  The meeting in Geneva will set the stage for a crucial UN biodiversity summit, that was initially due to be held in China in 2020 but was postponed several times and which is now expected to take place at the end of August. 

MIPIM - 20,000 people are expected this Tuesday in Cannes as the real estate fair “MIPIM” begins. The world meeting of the real estate sector opens this Tuesday at the Palais des Festivals launching the events season on the Croisette. In 2019, MIPIM attracted 25,000 delegates. This year, 20,000 are expected as of Tuesday.

Mona Lisa exhibition in Marseille - A new exhibition has opened in Marseille on one of the most famous subjects for a painting in the world, the Mona Lisa. The entirely immersive and digital exhibition gives enthusiasts the chance to look into the world of the Mona Lisa and unravel her mysteries. The Mona Lisa was painted sometime between 1503 and 1519, when Leonardo Da Vinci was living in Florence, and it can now be found in Paris at the Louvre museum.

Princess Charlene returns to the Principality - Princess Charlene has returned to Monaco to continue her recovery. The Prince's Palace made the announcement on Saturday afternoon in a press release. A happy occasion for her children and for HSH Prince Albert who celebrates his birthday today.
