Man shot dead in Brignoles - A man has been shot dead in his car in the city centre of Brignoles. The shooting occurred on Thursday evening. According to witnesses “two hooded men carried out the shooting, firing numerous shots before fleeing the scene”. Police are actively looking for the perpetrators as the investigation continues into what is thought to be a “settlement of accounts”.

Nice-Paris Easyjet flight - A Nice-Paris Easyjet flight which was to take off shortly after 9am this morning from Nice International airport has had to brake urgently on the runway to avoid a flock of birds. The maneuver was carried out without any incident and the aircraft was finally able to take off a few minutes later. The pilot made an emergency stop while the aircraft, an Airbus A319 chartered by Easyjet, was taking off. A spokesperson for the airport later confirmed that the plane was able to reposition itself on the runway to finally take off a few minutes later.

2022 Tour de France - The 109th edition of the 2022 Tour de France will start on 1st July in Denmark. After three days in Scandanavia, it will include stages in Switzerland and Belgium, continuing through the mountains of France before culminating with a dash around the Champs Elysées in Paris on 24th July which will be the same day that the inaugural women's race will start. After the men's race finishes, an eight stage women's race will begin from Paris.

Halloween Monaco - Get ready to celebrate Halloween with the Monaco City Hall. In recent years, the Halloween party has become particularly popular in the Principality - especially among the youngest, delighted to celebrate this October 31st with lots of terrifying disguises and sweets! The Monaco City Hall is therefore delighted to welcome children back to the Princess Antoinette Park and the Caroline Library, in accordance with the health regulations in force, in order to prepare and celebrate Halloween. The La Boîte de Jeux teams are waiting for children attending school in the Principality on Sunday October 31st, from 2 pm to 4.30 pm, for a brand-new game. Costumes welcome and sweets are up for grabs! And the Monaco Media Library is also celebrating Halloween with a special entertainment programme including making a “haunted house” book, afternoon games and workshops.
