French Prime Minister hands in resignation - Recently appointed French Prime Minister Elisabeth Borne has handed in her resignation which has been refused by French President Emmanuel Macron, who declares that the government must “stay on track” despite the loss of a majority in Sunday’s parliamentary elections. According to the Elysée, the President of the Republic seeks, with party leaders "constructive solutions". Meanwhile, the Prime Minister will this afternoon, bring together her entire government at Matignon to discuss "the political situation but also the emergency projects in progress".
