Cold Snap Set to Hit Nice and the Côte d’Azur This Week - A sharp drop in temperatures is expected across Nice and the Alpes-Maritimes as a cold spell moves in during the third week of November. After a rainy, stormy weekend, residents should prepare for a sudden chill, with temperatures forecast to fall below 10°C from Wednesday. While snow in Nice isn’t on the cards just yet, Météo France warns that the first half of November’s mild weather is about to give way to a notably colder spell.

City Noise Is Rising: What Can Be Done to Bring Back Some Quiet? - Noise pollution has become a major urban issue, affecting daily life just as much as air quality and now considered a genuine public health concern. From the closure of a campsite in Le Muy to restrictions on padel courts in Nice and even night-time shop shutdowns in Six-Fours due to disturbance complaints, more and more residents are pushing back against excessive noise. Neighbourhood noise is now the second-biggest source of disturbance in cities after transport. Recently, even a school playground in the Yvelines was temporarily closed because of noise concerns — a sign of how sensitive and widespread the problem has become. Authorities and communities are increasingly searching for solutions, from better urban planning and soundproofing to regulating noisy activities, in an effort to restore a bit of calm to city life.

Summer Crime in the Gulf of Saint-Tropez: Key Figures - The Gendarmerie has released its summer crime overview for the Gulf of Saint-Tropez, where the population surges tenfold during peak season. Burglaries dropped sharply from 204 to 121 cases, though four armed robberies were recorded and luxury watch thefts remain frequent. Assaults stayed stable at around 311 incidents, with a slight rise in sexual-assault reports. Serious road accidents increased, with 35 cases and six fatalities, largely involving two-wheel users. Drug offences rose to 306 cases amid intensified checks, while noise complaints—especially around beach clubs—remain a challenge. Controls on VTC drivers also increased, targeting those operating without proper authorisation. Overall, authorities note both improvements and persistent issues as they prepare for the 2026 season.

Monaco to Showcase 130 Years of Automotive History in 2026 - Monaco’s famed passion for motoring will take the spotlight next summer with Monaco and the Automobile, from 1893 to the Present Day, a major exhibition at the Grimaldi Forum. Running from 1 July to 6 September 2026, it will feature more than 50 iconic vehicles and rare artefacts across 4,000 square metres. Curated by Rodolphe Rapetti with the support of the Automobile Club de Monaco, the exhibition spans early motoring, rallying’s golden age and the world of Formula 1, including historic cars, Grand Prix legends and never-before-seen material. It also highlights the Princely Family’s key role in shaping Monaco’s automotive culture. A must-see for motorsport and design enthusiasts alike, pre-sales open on 1 December 2025.
