Father Christmas - The postal service in France has announced that Santa's office will open today. Every year hundreds of thousands of children, write to Father Christmas seeing 60 people at the postal service in place to deal with the deliveries. More than 1.2 million children "from around the world" write every year. The letters are in paper form for the majority of them (1.1 million) but also sometimes in electronic form (94.000 e-mails sent from the website of Santa Claus, www.groupelaposte.com/pere-noel) . The Santa Claus Secretariat is a 57-year-old tradition in France that "brings to life the values of sharing, hope and generosity".
