This growing initiative fosters community spirit and brings holiday joy to recipients and donors alike.

Marineland to Close its Doors - Marineland plans to close permanently on the 5th of January, citing economic difficulties and declining visitor numbers in Antibes, Alpes-Maritimes. The closure is driven by a 2021 law banning cetacean performances, which accounted for most of its appeal. Neighbouring attractions like Aquasplash and Adventure Golf will remain open.

Médicobus - The Médicobus, a mobile healthcare unit, has been inaugurated to provide medical and psychological care to vulnerable and homeless individuals who often avoid seeking treatment in the Vaucluse. Staffed by 5-6 caregivers, it visits key locations weekly and will soon include telemedicine tools for direct consultations with doctors. The initiative focuses on public health and prevention by actively reaching out to marginalized populations.

Nightmare Before Christmas Cine-Concert in Cannes - Cannes will host a magical The Nightmare Before Christmas cine-concert featuring the Orchestre National de Cannes performing Danny Elfman's iconic score live on the 22nd of December during a film screening. The victim, stabbed in the thigh and abdomen near Square Lamarck, is now stable after surgery in the Hospital of Nice. BUSINESS
The UK Labour government plans to renationalise three rail operators - Southwestern Railways, C2C, and Greater Anglia - in 2025 as part of its broader strategy to bring rail services under public ownership. The move, supported by the 2024 Passenger Railway Services (Public Ownership) Act, aims to simplify the rail system, improve reliability, and save £150m annually. Critics argue that public ownership alone won't address systemic issues without further investment and reforms.

An Indian ride-sharing company, BluSmart, has apologized after one of its drivers allegedly robbed a woman and her child at gunpoint near Delhi, forcing her to transfer 55,000 rupees and abandoning them before fleeing with her belongings. The driver was arrested within 24 hours, and BluSmart has pledged to improve safety measures and support the victim’s family. The incident shocked users of the app, known for its electric vehicle fleet and safety protocols.

Once operational in 2030, the plant will generate electricity for six million homes, though costs have risen to £46 billion, and delays have pushed the timeline by five years. The project highlights efforts to rebuild nuclear expertise in the UK while relying on components from abroad.
