Demonstrations have taken place in many of our region's towns, including some villages such as Breil-sur-Roya and Tende, where cyclists staged an operation to slow down traffic this afternoon. Protestors blocked the Provence roundabout in Antibes, just off junction 44 of the motorway and also the roundabout at Le Muy in the Var, both of which were often blocked during the yellow vest protests several years ago. About 8,000 protesters took to the streets in Marseille, according to official figures.
