The body of a man has been found in the port of Marseille. The corpse, of a man believed to be in his thirties, was made this morning near the Quai des Belges. Authorities are attempting to identify the remains.


The mayor of Breil-sur-Roya has written to the mayor of Ventimiglia in an effort to improve traffic flow at the motorway toll booths near the border. Sebastien Olharan said that the new tolls, which opened over the summer, are dangerous and cause traffic jams. He said that despite 50 million euros being spent on works, the traffic situation for motorists entering and exiting the motorway at Ventimiglia is less fluid than before the changes.


The French government has imposed restrictions on the movement of cattle after outbreaks of a disease known as LSD, or “Lumpy Cattle Disease”. For a period of just over two weeks there will be a ban on all cattle leaving mainland France and a ban on all gatherings, such as competitions, fairs and exhibitions of cattle throughout metropolitan France. The government said that the measures are necessary to preserve French cattle farming and reassure France's European and commercial partners.


The Monaco Pavilion has closed its doors at the end of the World Expo in Japan after a successful six months. The Pavilion, which showcased the attractions of Monaco, attracted nearly 1.5 million visitors.


The Monte-Carlo E-Rally is drawing to a close this weekend, with cars converging on Monaco late tomorrow afternoon after several days of competition in the hills around our region. The 100% electric version of the Monte-Carlo Rally will have covered a total of more than 230 kilometers since the official start in Casino Square on Wednesday evening.
