Care Package

Care Package - France’s health minister, Agnès Buzyn, has announced the upcoming creation of a “care package", which will be reimbursed by the Social Security in France. The package will include the support of patients after cancer, including psychological and dietary support, as well as physical activity. Since January 2016, doctors can prescribe physical activity to their patients with a long-term condition, which concerns nearly 11 million French but until now this measure has not been funded. The new measure is included in the Social Security Financing Bill for 2020, which was introduced on 30th September.

Scientific evidence has shown that appropriate physical activity, practiced on a regular basis, can reduce relapses by about 40%, and improve survival by 40%.
