Yellow Vest movement - The organizers of the “yellow vest” demonstrations that escalated into violence on Saturday in Paris, on the first anniversary of the movement, have critised police management, criticizing the decision to "interfere" with the freedom rights by banning the meeting.
In a statement released on Tuesday, organizers, believe that the authorities had "premeditated the cancellation of the legally authorized event". According to them, the ban has given rise to "incomprehension from thousands of demonstrators all over France". It resulted, they say, in "open custody of more than three hours" during which the means used by the police "resulted in physical injuries, some very serious." During the demonstration, a 41-year-old protester lost an eye after receiving a shot possibly fired by police, prompting the opening of an IGPN investigation.
