Road safety - The Prefect of the Var has announced this morning that a report published shows that so far this year 21 people have been killed on the regions roads compared to 3 last year for the same period. Speeding, as well as driving under the influence of alcohol and /or narcotics are the main cause of road accidents. In response to the report authorities have announced that there will be an increase in the number of spot checks on motorists by police as of today in the Var.
