Police violence - Faced with new accusations of police violence during recent demonstrations the French government has called on police to “set an example”. During a visit to south western France on Tuesday French President Emmanuel Macron spoke of the recent accusations of police violence saying “He expected the highest ethical standards from our police and gendarmes” adding "There has been unacceptable behaviour”.
