Police investigation - Police in Nice have appealed for witnesses following three assaults in the same area since the beginning of the week. Three people were assaulted in the Riquier district, near the Carrefour TNL shopping center. On Wednesday an 86-year-old man who was leaving a supermarket on rue Beaumont was assaulted around 5 pm when an athletic individual overtook him on foot before, suddenly, turning around and tearing off his gold chain. On Tuesday evening, around 8pm a woman suffered a similar attack as did another individual on Monday evening. Police say it’s too soon to say if the attack is being carried out by the same individual.
