Oldest mayor of France - At 97, the oldest mayor of France has been pushed through to the second round.

Marcel Berthomé, mayor of Saint-Seurin-sur-Isle in Gironde since 1971, obtained 45.62% of the vote.

In the small commune of Libournais, Marcel Berthomé aims for a tenth mandate however, he was not present at the count on Sunday. At his age, he logically preferred to stay at home because of the coronavirus epidemic.
