Number of road deaths on the decline

Number of road deaths on the decline - The French government is expected to announce a decline in the number of road deaths in 2018. Prime Minister Edouard Philippe "personally" in favor of lowering the speed limit on certain national and departmental roads from 90 km / h to 80 km / h, is due to make the announcement this morning. The new measure has been largely criticized by "yellow vests" with vandalism and destruction of nearly 60% of radars according to the Ministry of the Interior.

After a historic lows of 2013 (3,427 deaths), France saw the number of deaths increase for three consecutive years between 2014 and 2016 - unseen since 1972. But in the first eleven months of 2018, the Road Safety has reported 3 176 deaths (metropolis and Overseas), 193 less than between January and November 2017.
