Monaco is to step up drink-drive prevention

Monaco is to step up drink-drive prevention – Being well into the summer party season Monaco is ramping up efforts to tackle drink-driving with the return of BAF Monaco’s free late-night shuttle service. The initiative is simple yet lifesaving and is aimed at keeping roads safe after dark. Founded in 2017 by Camille Gotlib, BAF Monaco offers free transport home to those who’ve had too much to drink, removing any excuse for getting behind the wheel while intoxicated. With drunk driving still accounting for around 30% of road deaths, the initiative is more relevant than ever. In the wake of several serious and in some cases fatal accidents last year, the message is crystal clear: don’t risk it. Two dedicated shuttles now operate from midnight to 5am, six nights a week one covering Monaco and the other extending into surrounding towns. Since launching this season on 1 July, the service has already helped more than 200 people get home safely, backed by partners including Sea Bay and Twiga. Last year, the total topped 700, a figure organiser hope to surpass in 2025. Getting a ride is as easy as sending a message via BAF Monaco’s social media or calling their direct line. Share your location, and a driver will be on the way. The campaign’s slogan says it all: Take the ride, save a life, maybe even your own.
