Matisse chapel to become a classified historical monument - The Matisse chapel in Vence (Alpes-Maritimes) will be classified as a historical monument. It was during a visit to Marseille last Thursday, January 16, 2025, that France’s Minister of Culture Rachida Dati made the announcement. The site, which is located in the Alpes Maritimes, was designed and decorated by the famous painter Henri Matisse. Erected in 1951, the building, also known as the Chapel of the Rosary, is a must for cultural tourism in the south of France.
