French President calls for new sanctions against Russia - French President Emmanuel Macron has said that following what has just happened in Bucha a new series of sanctions and clear messages need to be given to Russia particularly targeting Russian coal and oil. Forty days after the start of Russia's invasion of Ukraine, the discovery of hundreds of civilian bodies in Bucha, on the outskirts of kyiv, shocked the whole world. Invited on France Inter this Monday morning, Emmanuel Macron commented on these crimes probably committed by the Russian army. The Head of State said, "the scenes are unbearable”. Macron did not however speak of the fate reserved for Russian gas, on which the European Union is very dependent since it imports 45% of its natural gas from Russia.

Arrests made after tram controller is attacked - Police have arrested two individuals this Monday morning after they allegedly attacked and threatened a controller on the Tram network in Nice with a screwdriver. The incident occurred on line 2 of the tramway in Nice West near the Ferber tram stop. An investigation into the attack is currently underway.

Cyclist injured in collision in Fréjus - A cyclist has been injured in a collision with a car this Monday morning in Fréjus in the Var. The accident occurred shortly before 9.30am on Rue Einaudi. The cyclist was taken to hospital and traffic was disrupted in the area as emergency services intervened. The cause of the collision is still to be determined.

The Mediterranean coast however, was one of the few regions which escaped last night’s frost. The lowest temperatures were recorded in Champagne, where they fell to -9°C, while the frost affected almost the entire country, with the exception of the centre of Paris, the Mediterranean coasts and the English Channel.
