Cyber-attacks-The French Armed Forces Minister Florence Parly has said that the number of cyber-attacks on French targets has increased four-fold over the past 12 months.

The Minister has announced a new plan to reinforce French defences against malicious internet actors.

She said that anyone in France could be a victim of cyber-crime and has ordered a new partnership to be started between the country’s Internet Public Action Group and the Armed Forces Ministry.

1.6 billion euros will be spent between now and 2025  to beef up France’s cyber-defences.

Where is it ? -The hunt is on for a tangerine-sized meteorite that fell to earth somewhere in south-western France last weekend.

The space rock ,which is thought to weigh 150 grams was tracked plunging through the atmosphere by cameras at an astronomy centre and landed at exactly 22.43 on Saturday near Aiguillon around 100 kilometres from Bordeaux.

Calls for help have been put out on social media and posters have been put up in areas where the meteorite is most likely to have fallen.

The chances of finding it are slim.

A spokesman for the observatory said it was a bit like looking for “a needle in a haystack” but asked for people in the Mauraux area near Aiguillon to look in their gardens or along the side of roads and they might just come across it.
