5G Antenna - Residents in Saint-Roman-de-Bellet in the west of Nice have expressed their anger following the installation of a 5G phone antenna this week. The antenna has been installed on private land.

Emmanuel Macron to meet with his predecessor today – French President Emmanuel Macron is to meet with his predecessor Francois Hollande today. The meeting is part of a series of meetings launched, by the head of state, to prepare for the post-Covid period. The meetings began on Monday when Emmanuel Macron met with former President Nicolas Sarkozy.

Today’s meeting will be the first tête-à-tête between the former head of state and his former adviser, since the handover in May 2017. According to reports in French media Hollande plans to inform Macron of the urgency to make a gesture towards the most modest and the purchasing power of French households.

Lightning strikes apartment block - Residents of an apartment block in western France in the Dol-de-Bretagne have been evacuated after lightning struck the roof of the building setting off a fire on the top floor. One resident suffered slight burns as 50 firefighters intervened.

Weather warning – Meanwhile météo France has placed thirteen departments on a weather alert with storms forecast. The warning in in place from 6pm to 8pm this evening in the Creuse, Haute-Vienne, Corrèze, Dordogne, Lot, Lot-et-Garonne, Tarn-et-Garonne, Gers, Allier, Puy-de-Dôme, Cantal, Haute-Loire and Loire. The storms are expected to be accompanied by hail and strong winds.
