Investigation into kidnapping of a young man in a shisha bar in Paris - Police have opened an investigation after an 18-year-old man was the victim of a kidnapping, on the night of Tuesday May 7th to Wednesday May 8th, in a shisha bar in the 16th arrondissement in Paris. Shortly after midnight, two strangers burst into the bar located on Avenue Bugeaud, before forcing the victim to follow them. Forced into a Fiat 500 a photo of the victim unconscious and with a gun pointed at his head was sent to his father and the sum of 33,000 euros was demanded in exchange for his release. A police operation was put in place with a false delivery of the ransom organized. A suspect who came to collect the requested money was arrested before being placed in police custody. The kidnapped young man was finally found, around 4am in a street in Asnières (Hauts-de-Seine). He had several injuries to his face, body and head. He has since been hospitalized. The Fiat 500 which was used for his kidnapping was discovered, empty of any occupants, in the 19th arrondissement.
