Households given off peak electricity tariffs by strikers

Households given off peak tariffs by strikers - A representative of the CGT union in France for the electricity network has said that the gesture of giving 500,000 households in the Paris region off peak tariffs on Christmas Eve was an “early Christmas present”. The action comes as part of ongoing protest against the pension reforms. The union has promised further similar action during the holidays and ensures that there is no question of a truce.

Meanwhile on the twenty-third day of strike action against the pension reform, the CGT union has announced this morning that, since the start of the strike, it has collected more than 1 million euros in support of strikers from an online kitty hosted by “Le Pot commun”.
