Government reforms to unemployment benefit - As the French government tackles short-term work contracts and compensation for employee’s reforms are planned to be introduced this summer. New rules will be applicable concerning the calculation of unemployment benefits, which were announced on Tuesday by Prime Minister Philippe Edouard. Figures published have shown that the current system shows that half of beneficiaries receive less than 860 euros net per month. 45% are between 860 and 1 810 euros and only 5% of beneficiaries receive more than 1 810 euros net each month with the limit standing at 6,615 euros net monthly which concerns 0.05% of beneficiaries.
