First of the month changes

First of the month changes - Every 1st of the month in France changes are introduced and the 1st of January is no different. Several new reforms were introduced on Wednesday January 1st and amongst them were the following: to promote sustainability and reduce plastic waste, as well as reduce the exposure to harmful chemicals, all childcare facilities, medical establishments and schools in towns with more than 2,000 residents will no longer be allowed to use plastic food containers for cooking, serving meals or reheating.  Another reform will affect the “carnet de santé”, which keeps track of your child’s health for vaccinations and general health, is to be updated with the intention of giving a more comprehensive guidance for families and from 2025 it will include prevention advice on screen use and a detailed follow-up of the mandatory health examinations to detect neurodevelopment disorders early, as well as support for the mental health of adolescents. Finally, the calculation of the APL or “Personal Housing Assistance”, will be updated to ensure that the financial aid aligns more closely with the economic realities of 2025.
