Fatal weekend on the Promenade des Anglais - A pedestrian has been killed after being the victim of a hit and run incident on the Promenade des Anglais in Nice in the early hours of this morning. Emergency services intervened at around 3.30am but the victim died at the scene. The driver involved in the accident fled the scene of the accident while a second individual and passenger was arrested. The Promenade des Anglais was cut off to traffic. The identity of the victim is still not known.
It was the second fatal accident on the prom this weekend, as early on Saturday morning a motorcyclist in his twenties was killed when he hit a parked vehicle.
