Arrests made in Vallauris following a crackdown on illegal immigrants

Arrests made in Vallauris following a crackdown on illegal immigrants - 16 people reported to be in an “irregular” situation without papers have been arrested in Vallauris. Police officers made the arrests on Tuesday afternoon in a “crackdown” operation of illegal immigrants which had been requested by local residents and the town hall following disturbances in the area and the lack of a police station open in the evenings and at weekends. Checks were carried out in a small, abandoned house as well as at the SNCF train station, on the main square and in the old town of Vallauris.
