Sculpture in Menton

Sculpture in Menton - The head of the family planning centre o in Menton has requested that a large bronze sculpture entitled "Notre Dame des Innocents" which has been installed in one of the gardens of the Grand Hotel des Ambassadeurs in Menton be removed.  The large bronze Virgin with, at her feet, seven dead babies symbolizes "dead babies on seven continents", according to the artist. Dutch artist Daphne du Barry, defends her artwork which some say is offensive explaining that her sculpture represents "the love of life" adding : "Every child is a gift of God I simply wanted to give a testimony of the beauty of life and how many unborn children could have been geniuses.
