Screening for lung cancer

Screening for lung cancer - Thirty medical experts including two from the Côte d’Azur have shown their support of using CT scans for smokers and ex-smokers in detecting lung cancer. Prof. Marquette and Dr. Castelnau are in favour of a CT scan after its benefits were revealed in a European study which evaluated its effectiveness. According to the study a CT scan can reduce lung cancer mortality by 25% in men and 40 to 60% in women.
