National Council votes on number of years of marriage required for Monegasque nationality - Nineteen elected representatives here at the National Council in Monaco have voted in favour of doubling the number of years of marriage needed in order to obtain nationality. Reportedly a sensitive subject "which divides even within the majority”. During the debate held on Monday those voting in favour wish to see the number of years of marriage change from 10 to 20.
