Michelin Group announces closure of site in France - The Michelin group has announced this morning plans to close their site which employees 619 people in La Roche-sur-Yon, in the Vendée, by the end on 2020. Following the announcement Michelin added that it will give "every employee concerned the opportunity to stay in the company in France". Despite a project that was intended to strengthen the activity of the site the 70 million euros invested by the group were not sufficient to cope with the "difficulties of the market for high-end heavy-duty tyres, both in Europe and abroad".
