Residents in Cap d’Antibes express exasperation of weekend rodeos - Local residents in Cap d’Antibes have aired their exasperation with the weekend rodeos. Becoming of a regular occurrence near La Garoupe residents have appealed to the local authorities to take action. They fear that it will take “an accident to happen before something is done”.

Man steals identity of deputy mayor of Nice - A man has been handed a six-month suspended prison sentence for having stolen the identity of the deputy mayor of Nice Anthony Borré. City councilors voted on Thursday October 7th to grant functional protection to Christian Estrosi's first deputy, after a case of identity theft.

Motorway delays - Traffic has been disrupted on the A57 motorway this morning following an accident. The accident occurred just after the A57 / A570 junction, in the direction of Toulon, traffic was reduced to one lane.

Wild boars spend lunchbreak on roundabout - A group of wild boars have been spotted taking their lunchbreak on a roundabout in Saint-Raphaël. On Wednesday October 7th, at around 1pm photographer Philippe Arnassan from the Var Matin, stubbled across the surprising scene along with many motorists.

It is becoming more and more common to see wild boars roaming parts of the Riviera coastline in the daytime. However, a few years ago, they did not dare to venture into town until nightfall.

Police investigation - Police in the Ardèche have opened an investigation after a young man, of Spanish origin who was found with head injuries in woodland, has since died in hospital from his injuries. The man was discovered on Thursday morning at around 10am by a passerby who raised the alarm.

According to French media the victim, born in 1993, is a Spanish national living in the Netherlands. According to the first elements, his head injuries were carried out with a sharp or blunt object. In the undergrowth, the police found the young man's tent, his bike and suitcase, which may suggest that it was a tourist who was discovering the Ardèche by bike.

An investigation was opened and entrusted to the judicial police of Valence in order to determine the exact causes of the death of the young man. An autopsy is to be performed this Friday morning.
