Free sunscreen dispensers installed to raise awareness about sun exposure risks

Free sunscreen dispensers installed to raise awareness about sun exposure risks - Free sunscreen dispensers have been set up on beaches in Sanary and other spots across the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur region to promote sun safety. Around 15 have been installed so far in parks, beaches, festivals, and public spaces. The initiative is a partnership between local municipalities, the CPTS (local health professionals), and Sunbox. Each dispenser holds up to 6,000 doses of eco-friendly SPF 50 sunscreen and includes a QR code linking to sun protection tips.

With over 100,000 new skin cancer cases per year in France, mostly due to UV exposure, the goal is prevention, especially for vulnerable groups like children and outdoor workers. These touchless, solar-powered units are part of a growing national effort in France to encourage better sun protection habits during the summer months.
