France is battling its biggest wildfire - France is battling its biggest wildfire of the summer in the Aude region, with over 11,000 hectares destroyed by flames since Tuesday afternoon. One woman has died, another person is missing, and more than 25 homes have been damaged. Around 1,500 firefighters, including reinforcements from the Alpes-Maritimes, are on the ground, supported by water bombers. Seven firefighters and two civilians have been injured, one critically. The fire remains active, fuelled by tough weather conditions. The A9 motorway near the Spanish border is closed in both directions, and 2,500 homes are without power. Two campsites have been evacuated as a precaution.
