Fréjus-Saint-Raphaël hospital asks for citizen loan ​- The Fréjus-Saint-Raphaël hospital has raised €50,000 through a citizen loan, the first of its kind in southern France, to buy a Gamma camera for improved medical diagnostics. Locals have invested their own money, earning 3% interest, to help support the underfunded public hospital.

Fight - A fight broke out this morning leaving one student slightly injured and hospitalized at Collège des Bréguières in Cagnes-sur-Mer, Alpes-Maritimes. Several students were arrested, but no weapons were involved, and the injured student’s life is not at risk.

Luxury items stolen - Two women have filed complaints after luxury items, including Chanel and Louis Vuitton bags and Rolex watches, were stolen from lockers at the upscale Metropolitan gym in Cap 3000, near Nice. Police are investigating the thefts, worth tens of thousands of euros, while the club says it has reinforced security measures.

Teachers on strike in Nice - Teachers have stopped classes for a second day at Fabre Middle School in Nice, demanding more staff and better safety after a recent incident injured a supervisor. They want the school classified as a priority education zone, while authorities promise extra support and resources.

More info on the near-crash in Nice Airport - A Nice air traffic controller has revealed that a near-crash on the 21st of September was avoided when his colleague ordered a Nouvelair pilot to abort landing after an alarm sounded. He says the pilot mistook the runway due to uneven lighting, calling the narrow escape “a miracle” and urging urgent safety fixes.

Neoliner Origin - The Neoliner Origin, the world’s first large wind-powered cargo ship, has docked yesterday in Marseille. Capable of carrying 350 cars or 250 containers, it can cut greenhouse gas emissions by up to 80% using mostly sail propulsion.
