News update - The reckless driver suspected of having knocked down and killed a 54-year-old police officer in Mougins has been arrested in Cannes. The officer was killed after the motorist refused to comply to a police road check on the A8 motorway, near Cannes on Monday evening. The driver had fled the scene but was later stopped in Cannes and is being questioned by police. The victim had worked for the police force for 30 years and was married with two teenage children.
