Covid related deaths for the region exceeds 2,000 - The number of covid related deaths for the Alpes Maritimes region has exceeded 2,000. Public Health France figures show that 16 deaths have been recorded since the beginning of the month, compared to 10 in July and 11 in June. In the Alpes Maritimes five new victims of Covid-19 have been declared in the past 24 hours and according to figures covid has claimed at least 2,003 victims since the start of the epidemic: 1,555 in hospitals and 448 in nursing homes.

This Thursday, 61 patients are being treated in intensive care in hospitals in the Alpes-Maritimes; a number which has doubled in 12 days.

Health pass required in large shopping centres - The health pass is required in some large shopping centres in the Alpes-Maritimes and the Var. Announced by government spokesman Gabriel Attal, this measure will only affect shopping centers and department stores of more than 20,000 square meters. Cap 3000, with its 135,000 square meters of retail space, will be affected by the measure.
